Permission To Film

For a certain section of our music video, we wanted to film inside the art gallery section of the Bristol Museum. For this action we had to get permission from the 'collections manager' in order to let us film the pieces of art. Following this inspiration, I took the responsibility to email the collections manager and obtain confirmation that we were in fact allowed to film. Here is a screenshot of the confirmation email that we received after a few of my emails.

By having to ask for permission, we have learnt many different things about the things that directors have to do before they can film somewhere. In some cases it is appropriate to seek permission and very important to do so as if you infringe a policy or copyright law then you may well not be able to use the footage in your final product.
