From completing this research, I have decided to create a short and detailed checklist of what elements are needed for an effective digipak advert.

Checklist of codes and conventions to apply digipaks
  1. The band name has to be very clear and very bold so that the audience immediately see who the advert is for and get a slight idea of the style of their band from the font and colour/s
  2. The album name should already be original and therefore should be clearly clearly positioned on the advert as it will create interest.
  3. If there is a background image used or a selection of images placed on the advert, then they should demonstrate the artistic element of the artist/band and give strong hints towards the genre they represent.
  4. The colour scheme selected should also work as a whole and allow the feeling of the band/artist to become clear.
  5. Attention grabbing words such as 'Brand New' always create an area of interest without fail, so positive buzzwords or sentences should be evident.
  6. Ways of keeping up with updates from the artist/band should also be mentioned (such as a website adress, twitter page or youtube channel) as it would allow the audience to find out more about their music, which in turn is a very powerful tool when it comes to promotion.
